Also, please post your preferences for the one-day skirmish in this thread as well.
The plans so far are to hold the event once a month on either a Saturday or Sunday. Whether it should be the first occurring of the month or the last, or in-between, please discuss.
Please also post your opinions on the allotted amount of time for each duel/match, and the pairing types based on attendance you believe would best allow fair representations.

For me, I'd perfer the last one of the month since I'd get a bit nervous, but I'd go for the first/in-between too, I don't mind.
EDIT: Pssh, forgot stuff. Since I wake up late at times, starting from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM would be nice, IMO. I stay up really late, so I can go fo any deadline hour.
As for the pairing types (Hehe, I read that wrong) I can really go for anything.

As for the time of month that the skirmishes are held, as long as it's a weekend I don't care whether its sunday or saturday, I voted sunday because thats when I have the most time to wake up and not have any plans(friday night and saturday night are my busy days)
As for tournament structure, you can take several approaches:
Single(double, triple.. if you go higher you're sadistic) elimination, everyone duels 2-3 rounds if you lose x rounds you're out. Favorable number of people: Any ODD number. Favorable time alotted per round: 30 minutes
Round robin, where everyone DUELS EVERYONE. After X rounds, where X is decided on attendance, you cut to elimination, which is simple bracket based pairings. Favorable amount of people: Less than ten Favorable amount of time per round: 30 minutes. 40 minutes In elimination rounds.
Bracket Elimination, players roll 1dx where x is the number of people in attendance in the skirmish. How it would be set up is 1 v.s. highest number rolled, 2 v.s. Second highest number rolled, and so on. The paired duelist then duel eachother in single elimination until there is but 1 duelist left. Favorable amount of people: Any even number 10 or above. Favorable amount of time: 45 minutes.
These are only a few tournament styles that can be done. As a veteran player in Yu-Gi-Oh! I've been to over 100 regionals, 4 nationals, 1 SJC, 1 YCS(Coming Soon) and 400+ locals. Most of the tournaments I have been in were x rounds of swiss, where x was based on attendance, after x rounds, it would cut to a top 8, or 16, yet again based on attendance. The Top cut of players would then duel in single elimination (1 v 8, 2 v 7, etc) until the last man standing.
I hope this has been helpful in the decision process of the Skirmish Duels for Battle City.

In all honesty, Sunday is fine with me. And to be honest, the last Sunday of the month is likely going to work the best. When it comes to pairings though, I think it's safe to say that x rounds swiss is really the best for low-attendance, and works with big well anyway. Break to top 8/4 depending on who's here, and go with that. That way everyone gets to play a good amount, and we can still get it over with quick.
